2020: Web Design Trends

At the beginning of the year, we are all preparing for something new. Especially, when it comes to web design as this sphere is a rapidly changing one. Web designers are always trying to balance out the usefulness and style. So, what trends are we going to have in 2020???

Dark Mode

Last year I often came across dark mode design or dark themes. Many websites and apps offer this option. Step by step it is becoming more and more popular. I am pretty sure that next year this trend is going to flourish. But why? Yes, on the one hand, it really looks stylish and fresh. But on the other hand, it offers increased battery life due to low-light settings and is pleasant to the eye. That is a really good design solution and it is going to have even more fans.

Minimalism

Minimalism is another trend of 2020. Today, more and more companies use it. Why? It drastically improves UX. Websites and apps become clear and concise. No odd information or design elements are used. Simplicity has become the main idea of this trend which contributes to efficiency and improved functionality. Easy navigation, easy data input methods, quick payment, and many other advantages. This trend has changed not only web design but other spheres as well. Micro- Interaction and Animation

Today, these elements have become so popular and widely spread that we can hardly imagine our everyday life without them. They are an essential part of UX which adds individuality to it. They can make your product elegant and sleek, or funny and nice. This is going to be a very long-term trend. We will see what it is going to offer us in the future.

Foldable Web Design

Today, we have foldable devices in the market. It is a new but quite promising trend. Step by step websites and apps will have to change to correspond it. This trend will definitely bring us new UX ideas and rules. I am very excited about that!

Vertical Images

This format is very popular on Instagram. The ratio is 4:5. Today, you can meet it anywhere. I would say the images look quite good. So, the trend is going to become even more popular as more and more people use their phones to view the content. Why not if it makes the images even nicer? =)

So, these are the main web design trends for 2020. Use this info and inspire the new creations!

Have a nice day!
